What does Shop Detect do on the repair order?
Shop Detect reads the repair order you already have open and surfaces the same intelligence a service writer would have to assemble by hand: what is due, findings in plain language, declined work to re-sell, and a branded report, all under your shop's control.
Maintenance recommendations that are actually due
Shop Detect compares the vehicle's odometer and service history against an OEM-tuned maintenance schedule and marks every service overdue, due soon, or up to date, worst first, with a live count. It reads the car's real drivetrain and transmission, so it never recommends a service the vehicle does not have.
AI inspection findings, written back automatically
It reads the inspection's flagged items and expands a tech's short note into a clear, customer-ready finding that keeps the tech's own words. One click writes it back into Tekmetric through Tekmetric's own editor, with a confirm step, a write-all option, and one-click undo.
Previously declined work, resurfaced
The warmest re-sell is the job a customer already turned down. Shop Detect lists previously declined work with the price, date, mileage, and repair order, so nothing stays buried in past tickets.
A branded maintenance report in one click
One click produces a print-ready report in your shop's brand, with the vehicle, odometer, drivetrain, and a color-coded due-now, due-soon, and up-to-date table. Print it or save it as a PDF to hand or email to the customer.
Configurable for each shop
A settings panel lets each shop turn features on or off, set the finding sort order, and override maintenance intervals per service. Change a setting and the recommendations recompute right away.
Branded as your shop, and private by design
Shop Detect carries your shop's own brand, so running it on the repair order in front of a customer makes your shop look established, not like it is renting someone else's software. Recommendations are computed right in the browser, and the only thing that leaves is the inspection note sent for AI rewriting, through a secure proxy that keeps the key server-side.
